What we built
Custom ElevenLabs voice recordings, Twilio Functions for call routing, and a dedicated local business number — built and live the same day we started.
Five custom recordings generated via the ElevenLabs API — greeting, hours, address, connecting message, and invalid-key fallback. Natural human voice, not robot TTS. Each recording was scripted specifically for Charly's Shop and regenerated until the wording was right.

Two serverless Twilio Functions handle all call routing. The main function plays the greeting and listens for a keypress. The menu function routes: 1 for hours, 2 for address, 3 to connect directly to Charly's cell, 9 to repeat. No server required — hosted entirely on Twilio's infrastructure.

We provisioned a new (678) area code number — local to the Lilburn / Atlanta metro — as the official business line. Charly's personal Cricket number stays private. When a caller presses 3, Twilio dials his cell and connects them. The caller's real number shows on Charly's phone so he can call back.

If a caller doesn't press anything, the greeting loops automatically. Invalid keys play the "didn't catch that" recording and return to the menu. If Charly doesn't pick up on press 3, the call routes back to the IVR so the caller can still get hours or address. Nothing dead-ends.

How it's built
The entire system is two Node.js serverless functions deployed on Twilio's infrastructure. No server to manage. No monthly software subscription. Recordings are hosted as Twilio Assets — free. The only recurring cost is the $1.15/month Twilio phone number and a fraction of a cent per call.
