Automation budget MCP server

Use the same planning arithmetic as our automation cost calculator inside an MCP client. The tool separates cash outlay from the assigned value of time and returns a simple economic payback estimate.

Connect your client

Transport: Streamable HTTP. No account or API key is required.

Add this URL as a remote MCP server in a client that supports Streamable HTTP. The tool is named calculate_automation_budget. Protocol versions 2025-06-18 and 2025-03-26 are supported.

Supply seven assumptions

Use one currency throughout. Every input is a required number from 0 to 1,000,000. Use zero when a cost or time commitment does not apply.

A hypothetical example

{"setup":5000,"rollout":0,"software":300,"support":0,"review":0,"rate":40,"hours":40}

This produces $8,600 in first-year cash outlay, $1,300 in monthly net capacity value and 3.85 months of simple economic payback. It is an example using assumed inputs, not a customer result or a project quote.

Read the result correctly

Monthly cash cost is software plus support. Monthly economic cost also includes review hours multiplied by the assigned hourly value. Upfront economic cost includes setup plus rollout time. Payback divides upfront economic cost by positive monthly net capacity value. When monthly net value is zero or negative, payback is null.

Freed time only becomes cash savings if an actual expense is removed. The model assumes constant inputs and excludes taxes, financing, discounting and currency conversion.

Data and access

The tool performs arithmetic only. It does not connect to your accounting system, read files, make purchases or call paid APIs. The function does not store or log submitted values. Hosting infrastructure may retain standard request metadata. Use estimates rather than confidential financial details.
