Quote Follow-Up: Jobber Reminders, Software or a Built Workflow?
Most quotes that go quiet were not turned down. The customer got busy. Three things can follow up for you: the reminders built into your field-service software, a separate AI follow-up product, or a workflow built for how your shop works. This guide compares them using Jobber's own help pages, checked in October 2026, and says where each one stops. For a few quotes a month, the built-in reminders are often enough. We build the third option, so read this with that in mind.

Option 1: The follow-up built into your software
Per Jobber's Automations help page, you can set up to two automatic follow-ups for quotes still in awaiting response status. Each one is timed in days after the quote was sent, up to 90 days. It goes out the same way as the quote, by email or text, and you can edit the message. It is listed for the Connect plan and up.
Jobber also has a custom automation builder on select plans. Triggers are days after a quote is sent or approved. Conditions include quote status, client tag and line items. Actions are sending an email or text, adding a tag, or archiving the quote. It allows up to six conditions per automation.
Where it stops. The help pages do not describe stopping on a client reply, handling replies, branching, writing messages with AI, or recording why a quote was lost. Automations are not applied to quotes sent before they were turned on. On a trial account we looked at, the settings said text follow-ups need a paid plan. That is a small thing to find out after you have bought.
Option 2: A separate AI follow-up product
A growing number of products sell AI follow-up on unsold estimates, usually as a monthly plan, sometimes with usage charges. They can add calls, reply sorting and dashboards. Before you buy, ask the questions below. We found that many vendor pages publish a recovery figure of 15 to 25 percent without a source, so treat any percentage as a claim to check, not a result.
- What is the price once booking, text-back and transfers are included, not just the entry plan?
- Is there a per-minute, per-call or per-resolution charge on top?
- Is there a contract term, and what happens to the number and data if you cancel?
- Who registers the business for business texting (A2P 10DLC), and what happens to texts if registration is rejected?
- Does it connect to your actual system, or does it need someone to bridge it?
- What is the cap on how many times a customer is contacted?
Option 3: A workflow built for your shop
A built workflow reads your quotes, decides who is due a nudge, writes a short message in your voice, and sends it only after you approve it. It stops when the customer answers, caps the number of touches, keeps to quiet hours and honors STOP. It can sort replies, hand the hot ones to you, and note why a quote was lost. It is more work to start and costs more up front than a plan. It makes sense when you have many open quotes or old quotes the built-in reminders never touched.
Aplos AI builds this. Custom builds start at $2,500 with the scope and price agreed in writing first, and it runs in your own accounts so you keep it if you stop working with us. Managed plans start at $199 per month plus a launch fee. See pricing for the current numbers. We have not published a recovery percentage because we do not yet have enough of our own data to back one. You can try a practice version at our live demo. Nothing in it sends a real message.
How to choose
- A few quotes a month, on Jobber's Connect plan or higher: start with the built-in reminders and measure for 60 days.
- Many open or old quotes: a built workflow can reach quotes the built-in reminders never touched.
- You want calls too: ask any vendor about consent rules for automated calls before you agree to them.
- You want predictable cost and ownership: prefer a one-time build or a flat plan, and get the cancel terms in writing.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Jobber follow up on quotes automatically?
Yes. Jobber's help center says you can set up to two automatic follow-ups for quotes in awaiting response status, each timed in days after the quote was sent (up to 90). They go out the same way as the original quote, by email or text, on the Connect plan and up.
What does Jobber's follow-up not do?
Its help center does not describe stopping on a client reply, handling replies, branching, writing messages with AI, or recording why a quote was lost. Follow-ups also are not applied to quotes that were already sent before the automation was turned on.
When is a built quote follow-up workflow worth it?
When you have many open or old quotes, want replies sorted and routed to you, want a cap on how many times a customer is contacted, or use a system without good built-in follow-ups. For a few quotes a month, the built-in reminders are usually enough.
What does Aplos AI charge for quote follow-up?
Custom builds start at $2,500, with the scope and price agreed in writing before work starts. Managed plans start at $199 per month plus a launch fee. We have not published recovery percentages because we do not yet have enough of our own data to back one.
